Data Nord Summer Meeting
On July 2nd, the summer meeting of the DataNord project – the interdisciplinary data competence centre for the Bremen region – took place. The annual event offers all project partners the opportunity to share updates and aims to foster exchange and collaboration across institutions.
Data Nord (more
here ) is a BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research) funded project that consolidates expertise in the areas of research data management (RDM) and data science. It offers researchers from all disciplines and career stages a wide range of services to enhance their data handling skills. The interdisciplinary data competence centre is a cross-institutional initiative that brings together various project partners and aims to establish a sustainable FAIR data culture.
Once a year, a DataNord meeting is held, to keep up to date with current developments, share project updates, and promote exchange between project partners. The event also offers participants the opportunity to discuss future collaborations across the different teams and institutions involved.
Part of the Data Nord project is the
Research Academy , which comprises five cooperative sub-projects:
- HealthyPlanet project - Lead: Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology – BIPS
- MRI4All - Co-lead: German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) & University of Bremen
- SmartReps - Lead: Alfred-Wegener-Institute (AWI)
- SynData - Lead: University of Bremen
- WeTheSocialMedia - Lead: Institute for Information Management Bremen (ifib)
As part of this year's summer meeting, members from all the institutions involved came together to present their project work to each other. In addition, the
DataTrain program of the U Bremen Research Alliance (UBRA) and the training and help desk services of the Data Science Center (DSC) were presented.
