Data Science Center and Mahidol University AI Center lay foundation for future collaboration
The Data Science Center (DSC) of the University of Bremen and Mahidol University AI Center signed a Memorandum of Understanding to promote cooperative research and academic exchange in the field of data science between the institutions.
The two institutions plan to collaborate on a range of activities, including joint trainings and course materials, sharing of computing resources, joint research projects and publications, and jointly seeking research funding. Additionally, the institutions plan to hold joint workshops and seminars on various topics in the field of data science.
The memorandum was signed on 10th January 2023 by Prof. Dr. Rolf Drechsler and Dr. Lena Steinmann representing the DSC and University of Bremen and by Dr. Pattanasak Mongkolwat and Prof. Dr. Peter Haddawy representing the Mahidol University. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Marejke Baethge - Assenkamp (Director International Office), Dr. Mandy Boehnke (Vice President for International Affairs, Academic Qualification, and Diversity), Prof. Dr. Michal Kucera (Vice President for Research and Transfer), and Prof. Dr. Gabriel Zachmann (Mahidol Cooperation Representative).
“We are delighted to start this collaboration with the Mahidol University AI Center. The Memorandum of Understanding lays the foundation for the two institutions to work together to create high quality research and academic value,” said Prof. Dr. Rolf Drechsler, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics and spokesperson of the DSC at the University of Bremen.
Prof. Dr. Dr. Peter Haddawy, Deputy Dean for Research Development at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology at Mahidol University, added, “We look forward to working with the Data Science Center. Our joint commitment to advancing the field of data science will serve to enhance the research and academic exchange between our institutions.”
This Memorandum of Understanding represents an expansion and strengthening of the existing partnership between the University of Bremen and Mahidol University (more information here
