WHAT’S THIS SESSION ABOUT?

Join this Data Snack to deepen your understanding of the complexities surrounding Humanities research data and discover practical solutions for fostering FAIR data practices.

Starting from the discussion of the term research data in the Humanities, our Data Steward Heike Thöricht will briefly show challenges in making data in this discipline FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable). She will present where researchers of the humanities can find repositories as hubs for centralized storage, standard enforcement, community engagement, and long-term preservation, making them indispensable in the pursuit of FAIR Humanities research data. Following the identification of a suitable repository, the subsequent stages in achieving FAIR Data will be outlined.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

With her diploma in Sociology Heike Thöricht joined the University of Innsbruck in 2018 and worked in the project e-Infrastructures Austria Plus , in the successor project FAIR Data Austria and in a Research Data Management project of the University. In her role as a data steward at the DSC since June 2022, she advises researchers from the social sciences and humanities of the UBremen Research Alliance throughout the entire research data lifecycle.

WHERE AND WHEN?

The info event will take place from 1:00 to 1:30pm via Zoom. There will be a 15-20 minute presentation followed by an open forum for questions and discussion. We look forward to exciting discussions!
