The Data Science Center (DSC) is an interdisciplinary institute that acts as focal point for data-driven research and data science at the University of Bremen. Our goal is to strengthen data science in research, education, and application across all faculties as well as to advance scientific discoveries through cross-disciplinary collaborations.

Data Train 2024 Kick-off Event
On January 17, this year’s kick-off event for Data Train – the cross-disciplinary training programm for doctoral researchers of the U Bremen Research Alliance – took place at the Fraunhofer IFAM. Together with Tanja Hörner, DSC coordinator Lena Steinmann also presented DataNord on this occasion.

The DSC continues nationwide network initiative
Last September, the DSC, together with partner institutions, hosted the first Data-Science-Community Workshop at INFORMATIK 2023. The event laid the foundation for the establishment of a supraregional network between different data-science-initiatives. On January 15, the second community meeting took place, to follow-up on discussions from the workshop and further develop the exchange network.

Kick-Off Event DataNord
On November 24th, the kick-off event for Data Nord – the interdisciplinary data competence centre for the Bremen region – took place on the premises of the University of Bremen. Professor Dr. Jutta Günther, President of the University of Bremen and Chair Person of the U Bremen Research Alliance, welcomed the numerous participants.
