SHORT PROFILE
Jessica Birkholz is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Economics of Innovation and Structural Change at the University of Bremen. She studied Business Administra-tion at the same institution, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in 2015 and a Master of Science in 2018. For her dissertation, completed in September 2022, she examined the relationship between entrepreneurship and the creation and diffusion of knowledge in regional innovation systems.
She currently conducts research on the emergence and diffusion of innovations, particularly in the field of green energy technologies. She applies natural language processing techniques and econometrics to diverse data sets (e.g. patents, press releases, political election programs, news articles, company reports, research funding data, regional statistics).
