The DSC launches an interdisciplinary seminar series on data science
The “Data Science Forum” offers scientists from all faculties the opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas on data science.
The “
Data Science Forum” is a bi-weekly seminar series for cross-disciplinary exchange on data science. It starts on February 11 2021 and will henceforth take place every second Thursday from 12 to 1 PM in Zoom.
The Data Science Forum is aimed at scientists from all disciplines who work with big data, develop data science methods such as AI or (would like to) apply these in their research as well as those who investigate ethical, legal, and societal aspects of data science. The Data Science Forum offers researchers from all faculties the opportunity to present and discuss their activities, interests, and challenges in the field of data science in front of an interdisciplinary audience. The goal of the Data Science Forum is to make the diverse data science activities of researcher at the University of Bremen visible beyond their own discipline and thus to stimulate a dialogue between scientists from different research areas.
The one-hour meeting usually starts with a 20- to 30-minute presentation and offers enough time for questions, comments and discussions afterwards. Everyone is welcome to attend or contribute a presentation to the bi-weekly Data Science Forum. The seminar series will begin on February 11 2021 with a presentation by Dr. Tanja Hörner on an interdisciplinary training for doctoral candidates entitled “Towards a cross-disciplinary doctoral education program on research data management and data science – Data Train”.
